This release primarily focuses on improvements to our architectural features. Thank you to everyone who requested enhancements or reported bugs.

Major Enhancements

Architecture System

Lumia’s architecture has been reworked to give you much more flexibility in how you represent your organisation and configure the features available at different levels of the map.

Value Streams, Key Functions and Teams have been enhanced so that each of these types on the platform has the same capabilities. The practical effect is that Value Streams and Key Functions now have a significantly larger feature set and should be much more useful when representing how your organisation works. For example, you might now want to create an area for recording high-level actions and meetings within a Value Stream. In this scenario, the members of the Value Stream might include each function or team leader within it, so that they can add actions and attend meetings.

Groups Tab (Formerly Teams Tab)

Due to this functionality change, Value Streams and Key Functions are now represented on the Groups tab, formerly known as the Teams tab. The screenshot below shows the Key Functions and Teams I belong to, with the remaining Value Streams, Key Functions and Teams displayed in the ‘Other Groups’ area.

Appearance Options

The organisation map looks largely the same, but we have more options available to configure elements on the map:

For each element on the map - a Team, Key Function or Value Stream - you can now configure the following:

  • Icon
  • Icon colour
  • Background colour

Supplementary Data

Each card now also displays the leader and provides additional display options. In addition to the name and leader, you can now choose to display:

  • Team members
  • Roles
  • Systems
  • Accountabilities

Location Adjustments

It is now easier to edit the layout and appearance of the map. Elements can be moved using drag and drop and resized to quarter, half or full width, depending on how you want the map to appear.

Creation Wizard

We have added a new wizard to help you create a Team. It allows you to configure the Team, its members, its appearance and its features during the creation process.

It's worth reiterating that the most visible change will be the name change of the ‘Teams’ tab to ‘Groups’ and the relocation of Value Streams and Key Functions to this tab. All other features are optional, so your Lumia instance will look almost identical to how it looked before.

Strategic Inputs

Strategic inputs are data that you have gathered from research, feedback, customers, the market, and other sources that you believe are critical to your business forming and implementing strategy. We are not referring to ‘business as usual’ inputs here; these are covered by the operational side of your business.

We have two types of inputs available:

  • Strengths, weaknesses, and trends (SWT)
    • These inputs help you assess the current state of your business across the following areas:
      • Strengths are internal factors that give your business an advantage over others.
      • Weaknesses are internal factors that may limit or impact your business’s ability to achieve its goals and reach your vision.
      • Trends are external factors that should be considered during strategic planning.
  • Competitor analysis
    • This answers questions such as:
      • Why do they win?
      • Why do they lose?
      • Where and how do they compete with us?

The feature is disabled by default but can be enabled in Lumia’s configuration settings.

Minor Enhancements

  • The restrictions on supporting objectives have been removed. Team Objectives can now support other Team Objectives at any level, up to five levels. This will be useful for large organisations with a large number of teams operating within a hierarchy.
  • We have updated our API to support the new architecture.
    • The changes maintain backwards compatibility, although the API can now optionally return additional data.
  • AI chat improvements
    • The speed, consistency and accuracy of the preset prompts have been significantly improved.
    • The AI chat has been updated with a new model (ChatGPT 5.6 Terra).
    • General accuracy has also improved due to better instructions being sent to the model.

Bug Fixes

  • Expanding a dialog to full-screen mode did not always enlarge the area available for entering rich-text content. This issue has now been fixed, allowing you to use the entire screen when working with large documents.
  • Cultural leaders with limited permissions (for example, those who cannot view other cohorts’ data) were previously unable to filter and compare data for their own cohort. This issue has now been fixed, giving them full access to the analysis tools in Cultural Index and Career Valuation.
  • An issue that caused people without a recorded Career Valuation to appear as overdue on the dashboard has been fixed.
