Explore my level of engagement by articulating the following:

  • Challenge: Is there a sufficient (but not unattainable) challenge to achieve the tasks of my role/s?
  • Stimulation: Am I learning something new?
  • Reward: Do I get feedback to show that I am making a clear sense of progress? Is my financial reward sufficient for this work?

A good balance of all three above will mean I am engaged and thus getting a meaningful sense of progress.

I may be:

  • Burnt if I have too great a challenge or lack reward.
  • Bored if I lack stimulation
  • Blunt if I lack challenge; I may be losing some skills

If I am not engaged what strategies can I or we put in place to address this?
