mbedADAPT has a powerful search function that allows you to search for any content you have added to the platform. It will search for pages, teams, roles or people within the system as well as all content entered by your organisation into the system.

We have added two elements to the interface:

  • quick search bar
  • advanced search tab

Quick Search Bar

The quick search can be found at the top right of the interface:

The quick search will return results for people, pages, teams & roles. Any deeper searching can be done by pressing enter in the quick search or selecting the 'load more results' button.

An example of searching for the word 'admin' returned these results

The first result is a role, and the second is a team. Clicking on either of those will take you directly to the page. The third result will open the advanced search tab and automatically perform an advanced search with the search term specified.

Advanced Search Tab

An advanced search can be performed by clicking on the search tab located at the bottom left of the interface. An advanced search allows you to perform much more detailed searches of your platform - including a deep search of all the content entered by your organisation.

The default options should be right for most people, but you may want to use the more advanced options if:

  • the number of results returned is too many
    • the maximum number of rows returned is 10 for each category.
  • the search takes too long or times out
  • you know where the content is (e.g. a specific team, or it was added as a kanban item)

The following advanced options are available to help you with more specific searches:

  • show only results from certain categories (e.g. Kanban Items or Objectives)
  • inactive people/teams/roles
    • by default, search only return results for active people, teams & roles
  • people
    • filter results by the person who added it, commented on it, etc
  • team
    • filter results by a particular team only
  • updated within a defined time period
    • filter results to discard older results
