Calendar Integration: Private Login Email - How to fix

You may have seen this message while inviting attendees to your meeting, with calendar integration for Microsoft enabled:

We use the users login email for invitations. Since integration with Microsoft happens entirely within your browser, you must have access to see the email of the user. This also means whoever is scheduling the meeting must have the “View public profile data” permission.

Users can opt to set their email to private, and in this case we will not be able to send them an invitation.

In order to set the login email as public, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the profile of the user who has a private login email (you may hover their profile in the Attendees selector, then click their Name in the popup to access their profile)
  2. Select the Edit button at the top right of the page
  3. Select the Edit button in the Contacts box. This will open the Edit Contacts dialog.
  4. In the Edit Contacts dialog:
    1. Locate the email with the key icon next to it. This is the login email.
    2. Untick the Private box
    3. Click “Save & Close”

Note: if you are not an administrator, the person themselves must edit their profile.
