You have the ability to manage the work of your team in an embedADAPT action board. Depending on how your team operates, this might be a busy, active board where you store everything you need to manage your teams work or it might be a board to record items to address in the longer term.
If you're in the former group, then one of the key tenets of good management is to limit the work in progress. Limiting work in progress allows the team to focus on a small number of items without the distractions of other less important (or less time-sensitive) work.
For teams that are managing more than 10 or so items in their "to do" list, this can be challenging. You might have many items that are not going to be done in the short term - which means you don't really want to see them every day (but you don't want to lose them either).
For this scenario, we would recommend the usage of a backlog. In embedADAPT, we have implemented this as a fourth column where you can store all those items you don't want to see on a day-to-day basis.
If you use the backlog well, you should find that the team is more focused on what has to be done now, as opposed to in the future. As a team leader it will also be easier to prioritise work.
To use the backlog in embedADAPT, simply click on the 'Backlog' button in the toolbar to show this column.
You should see a new column to the left of "To do"
You can drag and drop actions into the backlog as you would any other normal column.
To hide the backlog column you can click the same button again (or the arrow next to the column).
Alternatively, you can edit the status in the action dialog.
